Prof. Dr. Maytham Hameed Al-Qanbar, Assistant President of Al-Ameed University for Scientific Affairs, participated in the Iraq Education Conference 2025, in its second edition, with the participation of a distinguished group of international experts and academics from Iraqi and global universities.
In a statement to the Media and Government Communication Department at the university, Dr. Al-Qanbar said:
“We participated in the activities of the conference, which was held from October 11 to 13, 2025, at the University of Baghdad, with the attendance of representatives from several international institutions such as (Times Higher Education), (Clarivate), (Elsevier), (QS), and the Egyptian Knowledge Bank.”
Dr. Al-Qanbar pointed out that:
“The sessions included discussions, themes, and recommendations related to academic attraction strategies at the regional and international levels, the Times Higher Education initiative to enhance the global standing of Iraqi universities, comprehensive digital transformation, partnership with Elsevier, academic accreditation, the research strategy in Iraq, the Ministry of Higher Education’s partnership with Clarivate, and the Iraqi universities’ strategy within the QS World Ranking. The sessions also addressed the role of legislation in developing higher education, learning outcomes and the labor market, the British Council’s role in the internationalization of higher education, and the role of international organizations in supporting the development strategies of higher education in Iraq. Furthermore, they discussed Arab cooperation in building the knowledge economy, science and technology parks, business incubators, and the implementation of the Bologna Process in Iraqi universities.”
